3 minutes is a really short amount of time for …

Not that. You are truly disgusting.

No, I’m entering a short film competition over here in Oz. As you may have noticed I’m becoming more and more interested in films and screen writing, having recently attended a 5 week course. I want to see if I can put my potential skills to the test, hence I’m entering this competition.

The brief is to write a 200 word synopsis for a 3 minute short film with an unexpected ending.

So I have an idea, but I’m not willing to share it with just yet. Do you think I’m nuts?

But I will give you a little teaser”

“Doug Smith awakes from another nightmare. Undeterred he goes about his repetitive, mundane life to the job he hates.”

Oooh, intrigued? You will have to wait until May to find out if I progress to the next stage.

Wish me luck.

CreamDog illustrations and artwork

Howdy.

I really like this guy’s artwork – Patrick Schoenmaker. I’ve always wanted to do graphic art as a profession – at high school I took art, but mum and dad said there were too many out of work graphic artists, so I went down the catering route instead. The last laugh is on me of course as I’m now a web developer. Ha! In your face mum and dad! Just kidding though…

Don’t think I will ever back into the art thing again – I did buy myself a nice tablet for the PC a few years ago which lasted about a couple of months and I enrolled into a portrait class which was interesting at the local college (go Falkirk!). Will see what happens, you never know. I’ll just enjoy the work by other artists in the meantime and stay completely jealous (but still in awe).

Anyways, go to www.creamdog.net for more examples of Patrick’s art. Nice work.
